Among other activities that Favor of God does is the distribution of Bibles to the people living in the community and more especially to church leaders within Northern Uganda. This task of Bible distribution is directly under New Life Bible College(NLBC). People come every Wednesday to collect Bibles.
The turn-up of the people is increasing rapidly, this means that many people are being converted and discipleship is being implemented effectively in the region.
Last week, we were overwhelmed with the number that came to Mission House (Main Office). We thank God that though we had few bibles in store, everyone had the opportunity to go back with at least one.
As Favor of God Ministries we desire to see that people in Northern Uganda receive Healing and Hope through reading the word of God which is full of promises that God has in store for each one of us.

Leadership Conference - House of Prayer
The house of Prayer brings people together from within and around Gulu town for prayer. From
13th to 15th October we had a wonderful leaders’ conference where some of
the leaders who were not in agreement with one another were able to reconcile
in order to come back and worship and serve God together as brothers and
sisters. There were a number of sessions on the need for forgiveness and unity.
About 750 Leaders attended in three days of the conference.
GULU GOSPEL CRUSADE
The Gospel is made possible through partnership and this was practically seen in Gulu with the Gospel crusade that took place at Kaunda Ground with the team from Elim churches in the UK teaming up with the Mission team of Favor of God Ministries. Over 500 souls came to Jesus in Four Nights. Healing and deliverance was the order of the day as the power of God was there to heal and perform miracles.

Military Outreach to Soldiers & Rangers
Favor of God was able to reach out to soldiers and rangers who live in the middle of one of the Uganda’s National Game Park. These military men hardly hear the Word of God because no one goes to them with intension of preaching to them but rather touring to see the wild animals that are in the park.

We took the initiative to reach this people on Saturday. It was a longer journey than what we expected, but managed to arrive safely. On the way to the middle of the park we were welcomed by interesting creatures that some of our staff never saw in their lives. The soldiers and rangers gave us a warm welcome into their area.
We were able to share the love God to the military men and the word was shared by Francisco Onencan (The Acting Director Favor of God Ministries) and all the people were amazed by the inspiring messages that he spoke. It brought hope to them. We were also able to distribute bibles to both the rangers and soldiers. They were encouraged and requested that we never forget them, even as we travel back.

House of Hope Goes Live
The Children’s program on 92.1 Choice Fm in the morning from 9:00am to 10:00am every weekend on the Gulu local based Radio station has brought house of hope children, among other children of the Gulu Community, to discuss children related issues like children’s right and responsibilities plus sensitizing the public on some of the community vices like alcoholism, defilement, child sacrifice and neglect among others. Last week, the children Radio program focused on alcoholism.
One child told listeners that 'whenever parents involved themselves in drinking of alcohol and being that Northern Uganda is still recovering from decades of war, there would be no money to pay school fees for the children and added that drinking alcohol leads to child abuse.
Another child told fellow children not to drink because alcohol causes diseases like lung cancer, heart attacks. He told people to stop drinking alcohol because the Bible says that human body is God’s temple and should therefore be made holy (1 Corinthians 6:19).
Soon the children started taking in phone calls from the listeners pertaining their program. One caller thanked the children saying 'alcohol is a big problem to many youths and people in the community.'
One caller told the children that Youths and children in her area are seriously drinking alcohol and not going to school.
After some other phone calls one of the beneficiaries of House of Hope called upon the parents to allow their children go to school. She continued saying that the local leaders in Gulu should rise up and check on young children in the disco halls, bars and lodges so that the future generation can grow to develop the region.
After he children were given sometime to send greetings to the people they love which was done with smiling faces and gaps!!!

FOG Reaches out to Leprosy Victims
The Medical Department visited Alele-lele Leprosy settlement in Alero Sub-county, Nwoya District; Northern Uganda and met with Mr. Yakobo Orach.
Orach is one of the pioneers of the leprosy settlement in Northern Uganda and in his testimony, we noted these details. He said he developed leprosy signs and symptoms in 1944 from Nyapeya Collage. He then left the colledge and came back home for treatment that was herbal by then. He went to the catholic mission that suggested he should be transferred to "Opkwari" in Southern Sudan (Currently). But as he prepared to go, the Church Missionary Society led by Dr. Brown, opened up leprosy treatment centre in Kumi then he was redirected there.
Leprosy is a chronic granulomatous disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae that principally affects skin and peripheral nerves. The principal means of transmission is by aerosol spread from infected nasal secretions to exposed nasal and oral mucosa. Leprosy is not generally spread by means of direct contact through intact skin, although close contacts are most vulnerable.
Tissue damage depends on the degree to which cell-mediated immunity is expressed, the type and extent of bacillary spread and multiplication, the appearance of tissue-damaging immunologic complications and the development of nerve damage and its sequelae, that now result in Neuropathic pain, associated with psychological morbidity. The correct diagnosis and proper treatment of pain is an important public health concern, but this community is missing it as they do not have easily accessible health unit in their settlement, and they are only able to reach the nearby health unit over 5km away, with support of other people.
In this situation, Favor of God Ministries plan to conduct more regular medical outreaches in the area while plan to put up a health unit in the settlement is underway. This is to help support them in their health problem.
